I love hot things: Hot summer days, hot soup on a cold day, hot showers. And no matter where I am in the world, my favorite thing to eat is hot and spicey food. The hotter the food, the better it tastes.
I can say the same thing about having the fire of the Holy Spirit in my life. The hotter the Holy Spirit is in my life, the better it gets.
Having the Holy Spirit in your life makes your life and ministry so much easier. Just like how a powered drill is easier to use than a screwdriver, the Holy Spirit makes life so much easier than life without Him.
And this week I want you to see that life with the Holy Spirit is not only easier, but it is so much for exciting, interesting, fufilling, and hotter.
Incase you don’t like spicey food, let me ask you this: If you were to go to an amusement park and had the option to ride either the kiddie train or the more extreem rollar coaster with loops in it which would you choose?
Sure the kiddie train looks safer and less intimidating, but out of all the people I have ever gone on an intense rollar coaster with they have never regretted feeling the rush, adrenaline, and excitement.
Life with the Holy Spirit is spicey, full of excitement, and a total rush. I have never regretted choosing to live my life with the Holy Spirit fueling my ministry, and fueling my relationship with God.
Let me ask you another question for you to consider this week: When you get to Heaven what stories do you want to tell?
Do you want to talk about how in your life and relationship with God you always played it safe and never added any fire or let the Holy Spirit take your ministry to the next level?
Or would you want to talk with Jesus and the Disciples about the excitement and thrill you had in life winning the lost to Christ, seeing the sick be healed, watching the broken hearted be restored, and witnessing the miraculous power of God every day.
I don’t know about you, but I would so much rather take advantage of all the gifts God gave us here on Earth so that when I get to Heaven I know that I didn’t miss out on anything!
God says in His Word: “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to spit you out of my mouth.” ~ Revelation 3:15-16
Don’t be a lukewarm Christian! Don’t spend your life not knowing the fire of the Holy Spirit in your life, ministry, and relationship with God!
Live your life on fire for God, and keep that fire hot until the day when we see Jesus come back again and here Him say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant.”
