Love can be expressed in many different ways.  Jesus used 5 different love languages to show His love.

Jesus & the 5 Love Languages

Act of Sacrifice: Jesus sacrificed His life for us. To give one’s life for another is the greatest act of love that can be shown. This is probably the most difficult of the 5 love languages. A friend once told me that he would take a bullet for me. That kind of love is overwhelming, especially when you know it’s true because of their acts of love and sacrifice they have shown.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” – John 3:16

Words of Affirmation: Jesus continually planted seeds of affirmation in praise and thanksgiving to God, because He deeply loved Him. A close understanding of this verse of scripture reveals that our words are seeds that will yield fruits.

“Therefore, by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” – Hebrews 13:15

Quality Time: Jesus was seeking prayer and communion with His Heavenly Father. Time with God, your creator and Heavenly Father, is vitally important whether it be through your Bible study, your worship time, or prayer.

“But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” Matthew 6:33

Giving Gifts: Jesus gave us the precious gift of The Holy Spirit when he left this earth to go be with His Father in Heaven. He said, I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. … whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” Jesus promised The Holy Spirit…

If you love me, keep my commands. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you.” -John 14:15

Physical Touch:  Physical touch has been proven in the medical field to bring healing and hope to people’s loves. By laying on of hands and praying, Jesus touched many hearts and healed many lives. Speaking the word of God in faith over someone, while touching them, in is very powerful and brings healing in many ways.

“He touched her hand and the fever left her.” – Matthew 18:14-15

We need to learn from Jesus’s example and love deeper in different ways.
