Dear friends and family,
“For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” — 2 Timothy 1:7
This week, America celebrates a remarkable milestone—our nation’s 250th birthday.
For two and a half centuries, generations of Americans have faced wars, economic uncertainty, national division, and cultural upheaval. Yet through every challenge, courageous men and women refused to surrender to fear and chose instead to move forward with faith, conviction, and hope.
As we celebrate this historic birthday, we also find ourselves living in a time of tremendous uncertainty. Headlines fuel anxiety. Culture shifts beneath our feet. Families are under pressure. Many believers are facing battles they never anticipated.
Yet beneath all the noise, one of Satan’s oldest strategies remains unchanged: intimidation.
The enemy knows that if he cannot destroy you, he will attempt to discourage you. If he cannot stop God’s purpose for your life, he will try to convince you that you are incapable, unqualified, or alone. Intimidation is the strain. Self-doubt is the drain.
We see it everywhere today. People are intimidated by economic uncertainty, cultural hostility, political division, and personal setbacks. Many have quietly exchanged confidence in God for confidence in circumstances. The result is hesitation, fear, and spiritual paralysis.
But God’s people have never been called to live intimidated lives.
The story of Scripture is filled with ordinary men and women who faced extraordinary opposition. Moses stood before Pharaoh. David faced Goliath. Esther risked her life before the king. The disciples confronted a hostile world after the resurrection. None of them were fearless because of their own strength. They were courageous because they knew God was with them.
That is still our confidence today.
The answer to intimidation is not self-confidence. It is God-confidence.
When we understand that God is FOR us, fear begins to lose its grip. When we understand that God is WITH us, doubt begins to surrender. When we understand that God is IN us, courage begins to rise.
As America marks 250 years of history, freedom, sacrifice, and opportunity, let us remember that the greatest battles are not won on a battlefield but in the human heart. Freedom always requires courage. Faith always requires trust.
The Church shines brightest when the culture grows darkest. This is not the hour to retreat. This is the hour to stand.
The enemy may be shouting, “You can’t.”
God is declaring, “I can.”
The enemy says, “You’re not enough.”
God says, “My grace is sufficient for you.”
This week, refuse to bow to intimidation. Lift your eyes above the challenges of the moment and fix them on the faithfulness of God.
The strain of intimidation is real, but the strength of God’s presence is greater.
God is for you, and that changes everything.
Blessings,
Mikel
