spiritual momentum

Dear friends and family,

Have you ever felt like you’ve lost your momentum?

You still love God. You still believe His promises. You still want to accomplish something meaningful with your life. But somewhere along the way, the excitement you once felt has faded.

You’re not necessarily going backward. You’re just not sure you’re moving forward.

I think more of us experience that than we’re willing to admit.

I’ve certainly been there.

There have been seasons in my life when everything seemed to be moving. Doors were opening, opportunities were growing, and I could sense God doing something far greater than anything I could accomplish on my own.

And then there have been seasons when everything seemed to slow down.

I’ve wondered, Lord, what happened to the momentum?

But here’s something I’ve come to understand.

Spiritual momentum isn’t about how much we’re doing. It’s about how deeply God is working within us.

Let me explain what I mean.

Think about an avalanche. It begins with a little snow moving down a mountainside. But as it moves, it gathers more snow, more weight, and more power.

Before long, something small has become almost unstoppable.

I’ve seen something similar happen in people’s spiritual lives.

A renewed hunger for God leads to more time in His presence. That time strengthens their faith. Stronger faith produces greater obedience. And obedience opens their hearts to possibilities they never imagined.

One thing begins building upon another.

That’s the beauty of spiritual momentum. God begins something within us that grows beyond us.

Colossians 1:27 says, “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

I love those words.

Christ in you!

Think about what that means for your life right now.

You may feel tired. You may be disappointed. You may even wonder whether your most meaningful days are behind you.

But the presence of Christ hasn’t diminished because your circumstances have changed.

And neither has His purpose for your life.

I’ve discovered that sometimes, when I thought I was losing momentum, God was actually deepening something within me.

Teaching me to trust Him more.

Helping me surrender things I was holding too tightly.

Preparing my heart for what I couldn’t yet see.

What feels like a slowdown may actually be God preparing you for a greater season of spiritual momentum.

So let me ask you something.

Are you simply trying to get through each day, or is there still a hunger in your heart for more of God?

Not necessarily more activity. Not more responsibilities.

More of His presence. More of His peace. More of His wisdom. More of His purpose becoming real in your life.

Because I believe that’s where lasting momentum begins.

And here’s what I want you to carry with you today.

You don’t have to manufacture momentum. Stay close to the One who gives it life.

Let His Word strengthen you. Let His Spirit guide you. Let His presence renew your heart.

And don’t be surprised when what God begins quietly within you starts changing everything around you.

My prayer for you:

Father, I pray for the person reading this today. If they’ve grown weary, renew their strength. If they’ve lost their vision, awaken fresh hope. Holy Spirit, stir something deep within their heart that grows into a powerful momentum of faith and purpose.

In Jesus’ mighty name, Amen.

God isn’t finished with you. There is still more ahead.

Blessings,

Mike
