You were never meant to blend in with your surroundings

So many Christians don’t want to be noticed. They don’t want to stand out from the crowd, or draw attention to their differences. But when we make the decision to believe in Christ and follow Him, we become a new creation! And as that new creation, we were not created to blend in. We were made to stand out!

God has not given you the color of camouflage, but has imparted His Spirit on the inside of you in order for you to stand out and be light in this world.

Just like He is light, we are to be light.

”You are the light of the world. A city set upon a hill cannot be hidden; nor does anyone light a lamp and put it under a basket, but on the lamp stand, and it gives light to all who are in the house. Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good words, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven.”

~ Matthew 5: 14-16

He has called you to be light where there is darkness: to walk in health even in the surroundings of sickness, to be blessed even in the middle of the world’s recession, and to be good, despite evil being all around.

It is by exemplifying the spirit of Christ that we will boldly stand out as beacons of hope and love and be a lighthouse for those lost at sea trying to navigate through life.

Too many people are trying too hard to fit in, when they were born to stand out. You were never meant to blend in with your surroundings, you were created to shine.

The Magic of Summer

Something we look forward to all year: The magic of summer.

Vacations. Time off. Barbeques. Swimming. Ice cream and of course…the memories. But in the middle of the hustle and bustle, here are some things to keep in mind!

Spend Time With God:Prayer, worship, reading The Word, fishing, driving, silent meditation… However you spend time with God I encourage you to increase it over the summer. Time with God will encourage you, inspire you, and uplift you in ways that you could never achieve on your own!

Go To Church: Do not take spending time with other believers, going to worship with other believers, and being fed the word on a consistent basis for granted! We need fellowship, we need to be fed, and we need a place of worship in order to have the best summer!

Give Back To God: Don’t forget to support your local church even when you are on vacation! You can give before you leave or save and give it when you get back. Giving back to God allows God to give more into your life.

Though it is summer, we must remain faithful in our time with God, attending church, and giving back to God.

As we enter into this summer with the right mindset, it will allow the true magic of summer to take place in our lives: God working in and manifesting in our lives!

Missing A Mother

As we celebrated Mother’s Day this weekend I could not help but be filled with such love for all of the Mother’s that I have the privilege to know: My wife, my daughter-in-law, and many of my dear friends. I praise God for them everyday! But I also was filled with sadness, as I could not celebrate this year’s Mother’s Day with my own mother, a true gift from God who went to be with the Lord just a few short years ago.

Mother’s Day is a wonderful day to celebrate the amazing women around the world. But for many, Mother’s Day is painful as they miss a mother who is no longer with them in this world.

To everyone who may be missing a mother this year, my heart goes out to you. But even more so, take joy in knowing that for those who believe in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, they never truly die. We as children of God will all be reunited once again!

God does not want us to mourn those we have lost, but rather to rejoice for the great lives they have lived and the great many blessings they have left for us.

I miss my mother everyday, but I take joy in knowing that I will see her again! I encourage you today to find comfort in the Lord, and give Him your burdons of sadness or loss today. He cares for you, and desires to comfort you through His Word and by His Holy Spirit.

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble.” ~ 2 Corinthains 1: 3-4

God Is With You!

As soon as you accept Christ into your heart, He never leaves.

God is always with you.

In every moment of every day, you are never alone.

No matter how tough situations get, or alone you feel, you have a Heavenly Father right beside you wanting to help you with every area of your life.

If you are moving to a new state, or starting a new job God is with you!

If you have lost someone dear to you, and can’t find the will to get out of bed God is with you!

If you are tired, and have no strength to continue your routine God is with you!

Don’t be afraid to trust God!

Don’t be afraid to rely completely on Him.

Be strong in your faith, and don’t ever doubt God’s eternal love for you.

Embrace the reality of His contant presence, and fall in love with perfect love.

God is with you.

“…As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you nor forsake you.” ~ Joshua 1:5
