Do You Want to Experience Everything God Has For You?

Recently I read a scripture that reminded me why so many believers are not experiencing all that God created them to.

James 1:22-25 “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. 23 For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror; 24 for he observes himself, goes away, and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. 25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.” (NKJV)

If we know the truth but don’t act on it, our lives will inevitably stay the same. Simply reading the Word with no application will cause us to forget the powerful Holy Spirit inspired wisdom and guidance needed to walk in all that God has for us.

Many times people will read the Bible and think that is enough to live a life of abundance in Christ. While reading God’s Word is incredibly important, often no transformation occurs and they are left disappointed, blaming God for the quality of their lives.

Knowledge alone will never create change. It is revelation knowledge coupled with action and faith that causes God’s promises to come to pass in our lives.

I challenge you this week to become a doer of the Word. Whatever scriptures you read, ask God to give you the wisdom needed to incorporate them into your daily decisions and actions.

As a doer of the Word, you will be able to receive all that God has for you and live a life led by the Spirit, influencing everyone around you positively with the light and truth of Jesus Christ.

Can You Relate to Joseph?

Have you ever felt like Joseph? You start with a dream, some hope, maybe even a little faith, and then everything seems to go wrong? Even though you trust God it’s just one thing, then another, then another that doesn’t turn out the way you thought it would.

If that’s how you’re feeling, don’t give up! Hold onto your faith and the dreams that God has given you! Whether it be for healing in your body, for the world to be rid of the Coronavirus, strength in your marriage, a new job opportunity, whatever it is – don’t give up.

Hebrews 10:23 is a great promise to stand on in the Word if you are feeling discouraged, Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.” (NKJV)

Joseph never gave up and even when he was in prison God made him prosper (Gen. 39:20-23). God will do the same for you if you keep your faith in Him!

If you ever feel like too much has gone wrong for your hopes and dreams to come to pass, just remember Joseph and the years of tribulation he went through before he finally made it to where God had ordained for him to be.

Your time is coming. God is answering your prayers. Don’t abandon your faith.

One Way to Stand United During COVID-19

During the past two months, I have seen many people at odds with each other. Emotions are high and people are feeling confused and defensive.

We must remember to stand united as the body of Christ. We all have the same purpose – following God and reaching the lost. That is why right now I believe Ephesians 4:32 is so important, “And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.” (NKJV)

We can often forget all that Christ has done for us and therefore fail to show that same kindness and forgiveness to our family members, friends, even strangers around us.

Unforgiveness can not only damage our relationship with the person we are at odds with, but it is also detrimental to our fellowship with our heavenly Father.

I urge you today if you have unforgiveness towards someone in your life to remember what Christ has done for you. You may feel like the person does not deserve your forgiveness but we didn’t deserve God’s forgiveness either, and yet He still forgave us. Forgiving someone will take a weight off of you as well as help your relationship with them and God.

Be kind and tenderhearted as Ephesians 4 describes. If you are struggling with that or unforgiveness, ask the Lord for help. He will always lead you and help you by His Holy Spirit when you ask for it.

These are challenging times, but we stand together there is nothing we can’t overcome.

Celebrate the Mothers in Your Life

As Mother’s Day is this coming weekend I want to share with you a poem that describes motherhood so well.

“A mother’s love is something that no one can explain.

It is made of deep devotion and of sacrifice and pain.

It is endless and unselfish and enduring come what may.

For nothing can destroy it or take it away…

It is patient and forgiving when all others are forsaking,

and it never fails or falters even though the heart is breaking…

It believes beyond believing when the world around condemns,

and it glows with all the beauty of the rarest, brightest gems…

It is far beyond defining,

it defies all explanations.

And it still remains a secret like the mysteries of creation…

A many splendored miracle

man cannot understand

and another wondrous evidence of God’s tender guiding hand.”

~ Helen Steiner Rice

My mother is the one who shaped my life.

My dad was a highly disciplined man and a great preacher who would do anything including give his life for me, but my mother is the one who held me and daily told me she loved me.

If Mother’s Day is a difficult day for you, I understand. My mother has gone to be with the Lord and I miss her dearly. I pray that our heavenly Father brings you the peace and comfort only He is able to during this week.

I encourage you if you are able to, to celebrate your mother! Celebrate your wife and all she does for your children, your daughter-in-law, your sister, or friend. Let the mothers in your life know how much you love them and how great they are.

A mother’s love and sacrifice can often go unnoticed or unappreciated but this week let’s shed light to all that they do!
