Dear friends and family,
As you read this, I am flying home from Israel after participating in the Day of Prayer for the Peace of Jerusalem. My heart is full, and there are several things I have been carrying with me that I want to share with you.
One thought keeps rising above the others:
Faith must be fed.
We would never expect our physical bodies to remain strong if we stopped eating for days or weeks. Yet spiritually, we can spend our days constantly feeding our minds while allowing our hearts to survive on almost nothing.
Then we wonder why fear becomes louder, discouragement grows heavier, and believing God for something greater becomes more difficult.
A starving heart will struggle to sustain a living faith.
Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” Matthew 4:4
So let me ask you: What are you feeding your heart every day?
Our phones are speaking.
The news is speaking.
People are speaking.
Our circumstances are speaking.
Even our past is speaking.
But above every other voice, the Word of God must be speaking.
Our minds are quick to remind us of what cannot happen. They remember the disappointments, the failures, the limitations, and every reason we should simply be “realistic.”
But faith does not begin with what we can see.
Romans 12:2 tells us to be “transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
That renewal matters because an unrenewed mind can talk us out of what God has placed in our hearts.
Sometimes God puts something inside you that is bigger than your experience, bigger than your resources, and bigger than your ability to explain.
That is where belief becomes powerful.
A Word-filled heart can face opposition and declare, “Greater is He that is in me than he that is in the world.”
A Word-filled heart can face lack and say, “My God shall supply all my need.”
A Word-filled heart can hear a negative report and still declare, “I shall not die, but live.”
That is not denying reality. It is refusing to allow reality to have the final word.
God’s Word gets the final word.
So today, feed your faith.
Fill your heart with Scripture until His promises become louder than
your fears, His truth becomes stronger than your circumstances, and His voice becomes more convincing than every limitation trying to stop you.
BELIEVE BIG.
Believe for something so far beyond your own ability that when it happens, there can only be one explanation:
GOD SHOWED UP.
From my heart to yours,
Mike
