Can you believe it?! Christmas is only two weeks away. I don’t know about you, but to me, this year has flown by.
Last week, I shared a bit about the meaning of Christmas, and I want to continue to explore that. It’s crucial that we align our hearts and minds with the true meaning of Christmas—Jesus.
If we don’t, we risk allowing the stresses, distractions, and hardships of life to steal the joy we’re meant to experience when celebrating His birth.
That’s why today, I want to take you deeper. Christmas isn’t just about decorations and festivities—it’s a Kingdom principle.
What do I mean by a Kingdom principle?
I love the verse from the Bible that says, “For to us a child is born, to us a Son is given.” – Isaiah 9:6
Let that sink in… “To us a Son is given.”
This wasn’t just any child, any son. This was the Son of God.
The birth of Jesus carries an incomprehensible depth because it wasn’t just the birth of a child; it was the birth of God with us—Emmanuel. In that moment, the very light and love of God stepped into humanity. The birth of Jesus was the opening of the door to our salvation, and more than that, it was God bringing His Kingdom down to earth.
We had no way to the Father—so He made a way to us. God could not be who He is without choosing to be with us, to meet us in our brokenness, in our mess.
God left His Kingdom. He stepped into our world, right where we are.
So let me ask you—where are you in life right now? What darkness, bondage, or hurt are you facing?
In the midst of it all, God made a way for you. He brought His peace, His joy, His presence, His freedom, and His love straight to you. No matter what life throws at you, He offers a way out, a way through.
That’s the heart of Christmas. That’s what makes this birth so sacred and life-changing—it’s God with us. It’s God making a way for us to come to Him, both now and for eternity. It’s about us experiencing His Kingdom here on earth.
A Son was given, and through Him, we are invited into a relationship with the Father. A Son was given to pay the price, so He could bring many sons and daughters into His family.
So don’t let Christmas pass you by this year without stopping to reflect on what it truly means for you. Think about what the birth of Jesus has really done for you.
Once you do, you’ll realize—you have every reason to praise, to shout, to give thanks, and to celebrate. The birth of Jesus was for YOU. A Son was given for YOU.
Let that sink in.
