“Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth.” ~ 2 Timothy 2:15

I always consider myself to be a preparer. I love to be organized, on time, and ready for whatever is coming at me day to day. I’ve learned that whenever I am not prepared, my days are normally not as productive or fruitful.

Just as we are to be ready and prepared in our daily lives, we must be ready and prepared when it comes to the things of God.

If God tugged on your heart to pray with someone for healing, would you be ready?

If someone never heard the name of Jesus before, would you be ready to share with them their one salvation?

If someone went through a great tragedy, would you be ready to minister and share God’s love with them?

Many times we don’t even recognize these great moments to work on God’s behalf and bring His love to the world because we aren’t ready to do so. We aren’t looking for the opportunities to do so, therefore we don’t prepare to do so.

We must be the body of Christ that is ready to move when the Holy Spirit moves!

We must present ourselves ready, and and as one approved to work for God.

We must be able to rightly handle the Word of truth.

We must prepare by:

  1. Spending time in the Word of God. Learning everything God wants to tell us, and letting the truth of God’s Word affect our lives and influence our decisions.
  2. Spending time with God in prayer. Learning to be sensitive to His voice, and knowing when He wants you to move.
  3. Spending time praying in the Holy Spirit. Learning to recognize and be sensitive to His Spirit.

God is moving in the world now. He needs a church that is ready to move with Him now. Are you ready?
