May 8th, 2023 Monday Motivator

It’s a gorgeous day in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. The sun is out, the grass is green, and everything is blooming.

SPRING HAS ARRIVED!

It’s such a nice change after being in a snowstorm four weeks ago while ministering in Kazakhstan.

The massive weather shift reminds me of the seasons of life. We have days that feel cold and stormy and moments of light, warmth, and growth.

Last week did not feel like Spring in our family. As I mentioned last week, my dear nephew, who I consider a second son, passed away. He was an extraordinary person. Hundreds of people joined his memorial service and said nothing but how he was the nicest guy they ever meet.

His passing deeply moved me. I felt lost that day and couldn’t see the sun or feel hope.

We have all experienced good and bad days, but what is important is what we do in the big moments when we feel lost.

God reminded me of this amazing verse at the end of 2 Corinthians.

2 Corinthians 13:14 says, “May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.”

God has given us three things to ensure we overcome, whether it’s on our worst or best day.

1. The Grace of Our Lord Jesus Christ
2. The Love of Our Father
3. Fellowship with the Holy Spirit

We can overcome anything with these three things active in our everyday lives. God has given us the support and comfort of the Holy Spirit who lives in us, His love that will never leave us, and His grace to empower us.

If you’re having a hard week, run to the Father. Run to His grace. Run to the Comforter.

The snowdrop and jasmine flowers can bloom in winter, and so can you.

I found myself praying in the spirit many times since my nephew’s passing. I encourage you to do so as well!
