Precious Friends,

Jeremiah once cried, "The harvest is past, the summer is ended, and we are not saved" (Jeremiah 8:20). His words were filled with sorrow—an entire season had passed, yet God's call had been ignored.

I cannot help but think of this as we stand on the threshold of autumn.

Summer is often a time of freedom, leisure, and self-pursuit. Spiritually, it can become a season where we drift—enjoying the sunshine but forgetting the harvest. Yet autumn reminds us of focus, labor, and fruitfulness. It reminds us that life is too short, and eternity too near, to live distracted.

This Labor Day carries even deeper meaning.

Many of us have walked through difficulties this year—financial struggles, health battles, disappointments, and for some, even the sorrow of losing someone we love. My own journey has been marked by tears and tests. But in the midst of it all, I can say this with confidence: God is alive, and His Spirit is still filling us with hope.

As we step into this new season, let me share three truths that stir my heart for momentum:

1.  Move from Leisure to Labor

Jesus said, "We must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day" (John 9:4).

This is not a time to waste. God calls us to put our hands to Kingdom work with urgency.

2.  Shift from Self-Interest to God's Will

"Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" (Matthew 6:33).

The harvest of your life won't be found in chasing your own desires but in chasing His.

3.  Advance from Memory to Mission

Paul declared, "Forgetting those things which are behind… I press toward the goal" (Philippians 3:13-14).

We don't live chained to yesterday. We honor the past, but we move into God's future with purpose.

This is the heartbeat of Labor Day—not just earthly work, but spiritual devotion. It's a reminder that the Lord has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in heavenly places in Christ (Ephesians 1:3).

We are chosen, equipped, and called to shine His light in this season.

My friend, no matter what you've walked through this year, don't let the summer end without renewal. Don't let the harvest pass without hope. God is calling us forward. He is giving us momentum. Let's labor together—focused, disciplined, and Spirit-filled—to bring glory to Jesus.

With love and hope,

Mikel French
