September 19th Monday Motivator / Recorded in Kazakhstan
Are you longing for more, but life keeps getting in the way? I’ve learned that it’s often not a what in my way but a WHO that stops me from reaching my full potential.
I read once, “Potential is what you can do but have not yet accomplished. Potential is how far you can go but with God.”
Some of us let the fact that it hasn’t been done or accomplished stop us from trying.
We make excuses to keep us from taking a leap or pushing harder. Our fears, egos, or resentments get in the way of our potential.
It’s time to raise the bar a little higher and acknowledge the internal battle that keeps us from action.
So, where does the bar need to be raised?
1. Thought Life: Our thought life proceeds to action. If we operate with a negative mindset, we don’t see solutions or opportunities – we see the negative and make excuses. Shift your perspective by finding the solution to the problem.
2. Comfort Zones: The path to growth requires us to stretch. To become the person we want to be at work, in leadership, or business, we must act even when we don’t want to.
3. Community: We know we need a mentor in our professional lives. But this is true in all areas. We need people who have gone before us. We also need people to stand with us when times are hard. We were made for community.
Sometimes it’s easier to see someone else’s potential than our own. But God has called each of us and given YOU a unique gift. He not only sees your full potential, but he has also equipped you for it.
I challenge you this week to think of the areas where fear, ego, or your thought life holds you back. Then create a plan that encourages you to act and step into your potential.
It’s not about being the greatest; it’s about stepping onto the path God has called you toward and living out your fullest potential.
Ephesians 3:20 “Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.”
Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through him who strengthens me.
